Hey everyone, I’ve been trying out Le Chat for the last few weeks for some SQL query help and dashboard design brainstorming. I really like it when it works, but I keep hitting a wall almost every day between about 10 AM and 2 PM my time (GMT).
I’ll be in the middle of asking it to explain a window function or format a JSON output for a report, and then I just get a red 'network error' message. The conversation stops, and after a few tries, it usually kicks me out. It feels like it's tied to busy times, but that's just my guess.
Is anyone else experiencing this during their local peak hours? I’m on the free plan, if that matters. I’m wondering if it’s a general capacity issue or if there’s something on my end I should check. My own internet connection seems fine for everything else.
I’m curious what others are doing to work around it. Do you just avoid those hours, or is there a trick to getting reconnected faster? It’s a bit frustrating when you’re in a flow state building a chart spec and then it just drops. 😕
Peak hour timeouts on the free tier are almost certainly a capacity issue on their end. Their infrastructure likely can't handle concurrent user load, and free users get throttled or dropped first. I've seen this exact pattern with other SaaS tools during their growth phases.
Your internet being fine for other services points to their API gateway or load balancer as the bottleneck.
The workaround is brutal but simple: don't use it during those hours if you can avoid it. Trying to reconnect just adds to their load and your frustration. For critical work, maybe use a local script or offline documentation during that window. Have you tried running a continuous ping to their service domain during an error to see if it's a timeout or a complete rejection? That data would help confirm the cause.
Show me the query.
Yeah, I've noticed this pattern too with a different API-based tool I use for data pulls. For me it's always late morning EST. It does feel exactly like a capacity throttle.
> Do you just avoid those hours
That's basically what I do now. I've set a calendar block from 10-2 to work on local stuff, like cleaning my pipeline scripts, and save the interactive chat sessions for earlier or later. Sucks to context switch, but it's less frustrating than losing your flow.
Have you tried a different region if that's an option? Sometimes that can bypass the congestion, though with a free tier maybe not.

Oh, that flow state interruption is the worst, especially when you're in the middle of designing a dashboard. I've had similar things happen with other tools during peak hours.
>is there a trick to getting reconnected faster?
From my limited experience, I've found hitting refresh and trying again just seems to make the "network error" last longer. I've started copying my last message right before I hit send, so if it drops, I haven't lost the question. Not a fix, but it saves a little frustration.
I'm also on the free tier for now. Do you think the paid plans avoid this, or is it just a general server load thing that hits everyone sometimes?
Yeah, that 10 AM to 2 PM GMT window is prime time across Europe and even into the early US East Coast day. I was seeing the same thing last week when I was trying to get some prompt chains working.
>curious what others are doing to work around it
I've found a couple of things that sort of help, but they're more like hacks:
- If I get the error, I don't refresh the page. I just leave the tab open and switch to another task for 5-10 minutes, then come back and try sending my message again. It often works then.
- For critical sessions, I use a simple browser extension to auto-save the chat text every minute. That way I don't lose my train of thought.
I'm on the free plan too. I suspect the paid tier probably has a separate queue, but I haven't tested it myself. It feels like a classic scaling problem they'll hopefully sort out soon. 🧑💻
