Everyone's pushing LangSmith as the compliance silver bullet for finance. It's not.
You're trusting a black-box platform with your regulatory audits? Their "evaluation" metrics are generic. They won't hold up when a regulator asks you to explain a hallucinated compliance answer. The real costs aren't the monthly fee—it's the engineering time to bend your workflows to their model and the liability when their tool misses a critical failure.
What happens when LangChain changes their API (again) and your production monitoring breaks? You're locked into their ecosystem. Their support is geared towards hobbyists, not institutions that need SLAs.
