Okay, I've been trying out Langfuse for a few weeks now, mostly because the observability features for our LLM calls looked amazing. I convinced my team to try the Cloud (hosted) version for simplicity.
But we just hit a pretty big snag. We have users in the EU, and for data privacy compliance, we really need their interaction data stored within the EU. Looking at Langfuse's docs, the Cloud version only seems to have a single primary data residency in the US (AWS us-east-1). The self-hosted option is there, but that's a huge jump in complexity for us—we're a small team and were specifically choosing Cloud to avoid infra headaches.
I guess I'm just... surprised? A lot of other SaaS tools in this space (even smaller ones) offer EU hosting options for their Cloud plans. It feels like a major oversight for a product that's inherently dealing with sensitive prompt/response data.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to configure this on the Cloud tier that I haven't found? Or is self-hosting really the only path for EU data residency right now?
It's a bummer because I love the product otherwise, but this might be a dealbreaker for us 😕. Curious if anyone else has run into this and how you handled it.
