Hi everyone,
I’ve been testing Krisp for a couple of weeks now, primarily to cut down background noise during my daily Microsoft Teams meetings. While the noise cancellation itself is impressive, I’m noticing a consistent, slight audio delay when Krisp is active. It’s enough to make conversations feel slightly out of sync, which can be awkward. I’m using a standard USB headset and have tried adjusting the buffer settings within Krisp with limited success.
I’m curious if others in the community have encountered this specific issue with Teams, and if you’ve found any reliable settings tweaks or workarounds to minimize the latency. Also, given the delay issue, I’d be interested in a direct comparison between Krisp and other real-time noise suppression tools like NVIDIA RTX Voice or any built-in alternatives within Teams itself. My main priorities are clear voice quality and, critically, no perceptible lag during video calls.
Thanks!
Yeah, that delay can be a real conversation killer, totally get it. I ran into the same thing, especially with USB headsets. The processing just adds those extra milliseconds.
For a quick fix, have you tried forcing Teams to use a different audio device? Sometimes setting your actual microphone as the input in Teams, but letting Krisp act as the system default for other apps, can reduce some weird handoff lag. It's a bit of a dance in the sound settings.
As for alternatives, I've had a smoother experience latency-wise with NVIDIA Broadcast if you have the hardware for it. Teams' own built-in noise suppression has gotten surprisingly decent too, though it's not as aggressive as Krisp at cutting out sudden background noises like keyboard clicks. Might be worth a test call with a colleague to see if the native option is "good enough" for your environment.
