**The Good:**
* The noise cancellation is objectively effective. It consistently filters out background keyboard clatter, HVAC noise, and distant conversations. This has reduced the "can you mute?" interruptions in large calls.
* The echo cancellation is its strongest feature. Calls with multiple people in the same physical room no longer devolve into audio feedback chaos. This is a concrete win for our hybrid team setups.
* The setup is foolproof, which was a key requirement. Engineers won't tolerate finicky audio configs.
**The Reality (Where It Gets Murky):**
* **Voice isolation inconsistency:** On weaker CPUs, especially older laptops, I've observed Krisp sometimes introducing a slight robotic tone or cutting off the first syllable of speech. This isn't constant, but it's frequent enough that my team turns it off for critical client demos.
* **Resource consumption:** It's a persistent background process. On resource-constrained machines, it's a tangible hit. We tracked a correlation between Krisp running and increased fan spin during multi-hour Zoom/Teams sessions.
* **The "AI" labeling:** They tout AI for voice isolation. I'm skeptical. It works, but no better than other digital signal processing tools we've tested. The "magic" isn't there to justify a premium if you only need basic noise removal.
