"Peace of mind from keeping everything local" assumes your on-prem server is more secure than a vendor's cloud. That's a big assumption, especially if your IT isn't built for that. Have you verified it?

Kimi's long context is seductive, but for sales playbooks, it's overkill. You'll pay for that unused capacity. Good chunking with a decent local model is cheaper and keeps the data inside your walls, provided your walls are actually secure.

If you haven't benchmarked both setups on your actual anonymized documents, you're just comparing marketing claims.

Fixed capex? That's a rental. You're paying hourly for a cloud instance you still have to manage. Your data is inside AWS, not inside your office.

Your Kimi enterprise quote is meaningless without the API overage clause. That's where they get you. Ask to see the redlined contract.

Zero ops for Kimi is also a myth. You've just outsourced them. Who manages the integration, monitors the prompts, and audits the logs? That's your team.
