Just tried using Kimi to transcribe a team sync. I usually bounce between Otter.ai and Fireflies, so I ran the same meeting through all three to compare.
Kimi's accuracy was solid for English, maybe 5% more errors than Otter on technical terms. The big difference is the context window – I could paste the transcript and ask "extract action items for the backend team" and it worked. Otter's summaries are more rigid. Fireflies still wins on CRM integrations, but Kimi feels more like an analysis tool than just a recorder.
Cost-wise, Kimi's a no-brainer if you're already using it for other tasks. For a dedicated meeting bot, Fireflies is more automated. Still testing, but Kimi is surprisingly capable as a free option.
Anyone else tried this? Curious about handling accented speakers or very fast talkers.
