Alright, team, I’ve been putting the newly announced Jasper Teams permissions through its paces for the last week across a couple of client projects. My initial take? It’s a definite step in the right direction, but feels like a solid version 1.0—good bones, but I'm already hitting some edges.

For context, my team juggles content for three different product lines, each with their own brand voice and sensitive launch timelines. The old "everyone sees everything" model was a nightmare for confidentiality and focus. So, the new role-based controls (Admin, Member, Contributor) were a welcome sight.

Here’s what I’m liking so far:
* **Workspace-level isolation is a win.** I can finally lock the "Enterprise Client X" workspace to just that team. No more accidental peeks at the competitor's campaign in another workspace.
* **The Contributor role is clever for external folks.** We have a freelance SEO specialist who now only needs access to the specific "Blog Drafts" folder. Giving them edit power there without exposing our entire content calendar is perfect.
* **Asset segregation feels logical.** Keeping brand voices and templates contained to their respective workspaces prevents that "which tone of voice should I use?" confusion for junior members.

But (you knew there was a "but"), here’s where I’m left scratching my head and wishing for more granularity:
* **The folder-permission inheritance feels all-or-nothing.** If someone has Member access to a workspace, they have it for all folders inside. I’d kill for sub-folder permissions or the ability to make a folder "view-only" for some members. We have a "Final Approvals" folder that should be locked down to edits.
* **Audit trails? Activity logs?** If a prompt template gets edited or a brand voice description is changed, I want to know who did it and when. For accountability and debugging, this feels like a missing piece.
* **The jump from Contributor to Member is huge.** Contributor is very limited (which is good), but Member has full edit rights on all content. I’d love an intermediate "Editor" role that can create and edit documents but cannot modify the core assets like company knowledge or brand voices.

My big question for everyone else trying this: **Is this "good enough" to stop your team from shadow-using individual accounts or jumping to another platform for tighter governance?**

For small teams with simple structures, this is probably a home run. For larger, matrixed teams with complex review processes, it feels like we’re about 70% of the way there. I’m sticking with it for now because the core product is so strong, but my wishlist for permissions v2 is already written.

What’s your experience been? Have you found workarounds for the granularity issues?
