I’ve been exploring Ideogram’s API docs and noticed how much they push the ‘community templates’ feature. It got me thinking.

Isn’t this basically a clever way to get developers to build their integration library for them? We do the work of creating reusable templates for different use cases (like social posts, product thumbnails, etc.), and their platform becomes more valuable. It’s smart, but I’m curious if there’s any real incentive for us to contribute beyond just being part of the community. Has anyone built a template and seen a direct benefit?

Still learning.
