Just finished a trial of Humata's Team Plan. The "Team Insights" dashboard they tout? It’s giving… cloud bill "savings" that are just projected, not actualized. You know the type.
It shows you total questions asked, documents processed, total "time saved." Cool. But does it tell me *which* questions actually led to a decision that saved money? Or which documents are being queried redundantly, indicating poor knowledge organization? Nope. It’s activity data, not outcome data. Feels like a feature built because someone had a charting library lying around, not because it drives real efficiency.
What I'd want to see instead:
- **Cost per query analysis** – if we're on a token-based plan, which team members are generating the most spend?
- **Duplicate question detection** – are we wasting cycles asking the same thing five ways?
- **Document "hot spots" vs. "cold storage"** – so we can archive unused files and reduce processing volume.
Without that, it's just vanity metrics. Makes a manager feel like things are "happening" without proving ROI. I'd rather have a simple CSV export of raw query logs so I can run my own analysis.
Anyone else poked at this? Found a way to extract actionable cost/usage data they're hiding behind the pretty graphs?
