Hey everyone, been trying out Humata for the last couple of weeks to help parse technical whitepapers and architecture PDFs. I really like the idea for quick summaries, but I'm running into a consistent problem.
When I upload a larger PDF—say, a 50+ page AWS or Kubernetes PDF—the Chrome extension seems to hang and eventually times out. The spinner just keeps going, and after a few minutes I get a generic connection error. Smaller docs under 20 pages work fine. It's frustrating because those big, dense documents are exactly where I need the most help!
I'm wondering if it's something on my end? My setup is pretty standard:
- Chrome on MacOS, latest version.
- No crazy heavy extensions, just a password manager and Dark Reader.
- Tried on different networks (home and work).
Has anyone else hit this ceiling with file size? Is there a known limit, or maybe a setting I'm missing? I'm used to CI/CD pipelines timing out if a build runs too long, so I'm wondering if Humata has a similar "timeout" config somewhere that's just not visible to us.
For example, I tried uploading the "Kubernetes Up and Running" PDF and it just wouldn't go through. Ended up having to split the PDF manually, which defeats the purpose a bit.
Any workarounds or official guidance would be super helpful!
