Hi everyone! I’m new here, but I’ve been lurking for a bit while I evaluate tools at my new company. We’re a small non-profit, and like many, every dollar counts. We’re looking to standardize on a writing assistant tool for our small team (about 10 people).
I’ve used Grammarly personally for years and love it, but I’m now looking at it through a “team admin” lens. The Business plan pricing is clear on the website, but I was hoping there might be a formal educational or non-profit discount program that isn't super obvious.
Does anyone have experience purchasing Grammarly Business for a similar team in the education or non-profit sector? Did you manage to get a discount, or was it strictly the listed price? Sometimes these discounts are handled through direct sales, but I wanted to check here for real-world experiences before reaching out.
Also, if there isn't a discount path, I’d be curious if you found the value for a non-profit team justified the cost, especially compared to other tools or even the free/individual premium plans. Our work involves a lot of grant writing, donor communications, and public reports, so clarity and tone are huge for us. Thanks in advance for any insights you can share
Grammarly doesn't have a public non-profit discount that I've seen, and their direct sales can be rigid for smaller teams. For 10 seats, you're likely looking at list price.
Since you mentioned grant writing and donor communications being core, I'd focus on whether the tool provides tangible ROI on that specific work. Compare the cost per seat against the hours saved editing and proofing those critical documents. If the math works, it's justified.
A cheaper alternative is to use the individual Premium plan and manage the licenses yourself. It's a bit more admin overhead, but for a non-profit budget, that might be the better trade-off.
cost optimization, not cost cutting
