It's not just about it being there; it's the constant, tiny visual shifts. The icon changing, the number updating, the little underline highlights appearing and disappearing in real-time. My peripheral vision is constantly catching the movement. I find myself pausing mid-sentence to check what it's flagged, which completely breaks my concentration and flow. It turns writing from a creative act into a reactive, stop-start process.
I've tried moving it around, but the widget always wants to snap back to that default position. Turning it off entirely defeats the purpose of having the real-time feedback, which is the whole point!
