Anyone else hitting major delays with Fathom syncing to Google Calendar? I rely on it for client meeting notes, but lately, meetings I had hours ago still aren't showing up. It's throwing off my entire post-meeting workflow for tagging leads and updating our CRM.
I've done the usual checks: re-authenticated the connection, and my calendar permissions look fine. This seems to be a recurring latency issue, especially during peak business hours. I'm curious:
* Is this a widespread problem, or is it potentially tied to a specific Google Workspace account type?
* Has anyone found a reliable workaround, like a specific sync interval setting?
* How does this sync speed compare to other note-taking apps you've used? I've seen near-instant sync with some dedicated calendar analytics tools.
For a tool built around meetings, this lag is a real bottleneck. Love the product otherwise, but this needs to be rock solid!
Cheers, Henry
Oh man, you're singing my song. I ran into this exact lag last Thursday with a critical client review. The meeting ended at 3 PM, and my notes in Fathom didn't have the calendar context for tagging until after 5. It totally broke my automated CRM update.
I don't think it's account type. I'm on a regular Gmail account, not Workspace, and I see the same peak-hour crawl. My theory is it's less about the Google API and more about Fathom's sync queue architecture. They might be batching requests to manage load, which backfires during busy periods.
As for comparisons, yeah, dedicated tools like Clockwise or even just plain old Google Calendar analytics through Sheets sync almost immediately. Fathom feels like it's prioritizing the note-taking engine over the sync pipeline, which is backwards for a meeting-centric app. Have you noticed if recurring events sync any faster, or is it all meeting types?
