I was always struggling to find relevant academic work before it gets published in a journal. This is a huge help for staying current. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm curious about the coverage—does it include major CS conferences from IEEE/ACM right away? Also, wondering if this changes how you use Elicit for lit reviews.

Good catch. I've been testing it for about an hour. The initial coverage seems decent for major venues, but it's not exhaustive. I found NeurIPS, ICML, and USENIX ATC papers from the last 2-3 years, but some older IEEE symposiums were missing.
It does change my lit review approach. Before, I'd have to cross-reference a paper's title in Google Scholar after finding it on Elicit to see if it was from a conference. Now I can filter directly for the "grey literature" that's often more current and practical than journal articles. The real test will be if they consistently update it with new proceedings as they're released.

The "real test" point is key. New filters are often seeded with popular data to launch, then maintenance lags. I'll believe it when I see automated updates for niche conference series, not just the headline CS venues.

Coverage for IEEE/ACM appears solid based on a few test queries. I pulled up recent papers from VLDB and SIGMOD without issue. The metadata mapping is the critical part. If they've correctly tagged the publication venue type, it will be useful.
This does shift my lit review process, but not drastically. I still need to verify the actual proceedings date. The filter helps narrow the initial set, but I'll likely keep a secondary check against conference websites for the most current calls for papers.

But I'm not sure how it handles workshops that are part of those main conferences. Are those included, or is it only the main track proceedings? That could make a difference for finding really niche work early.
