Everyone's pushing the "multilingual" model like it's automatically better. It's not. It's a different tool.
If you're only ever doing English, use the monolingual model. It's trained on more English data, so the output is generally higher quality and more natural for the same price. The multilingual model spreads its training across many languages, so it's a jack of all trades, master of none. You trade peak English quality for the ability to handle other languages. Don't pay for features you don't need.
