I've been trying out Descript for some podcast editing, and the editing experience is genuinely fantastic. The Overdub feature is mind-blowing. But the subscription model is a real blocker for me.
As someone who isn't producing content weekly, a recurring fee is hard to justify. I'd happily pay a significant one-time fee for the current version and maybe buy major upgrades later. I keep looking for alternatives, but nothing else has that seamless text-based editing. Is this a common feeling among users here, or do most of you find the subscription worth it for regular use?
