Everyone complains about Jira tickets being vague. I use DeepSeek Chat to fix that, but not in the obvious “write it for me” way. That’s lazy and the output is usually generic. My method uses it as a sparring partner to harden requirements *before* they hit the board.

First, I dump my raw thoughts into a prompt. Something like “As a user, I need to export report data in CSV format.” Then I tell DeepSeek to act as a cynical senior dev and attack the description. I force it to list every ambiguous term (“report data” defined? CSV delimiter specified? What about encoding?). I iterate on its criticisms until the prompt is bulletproof. Only then do I let it draft the final ticket description. It’s not about generating text—it’s about stress-testing the idea for free before it wastes engineering time.

Your favorite tool is probably overpriced.
