We've been loyal ContentBot users for about 18 months, on their Pro Unlimited plan. It was perfect for our small marketing team—one person managed everything, and we had a huge backlog of content to generate. No complaints.
Last month, our manager saw the new "Team" plan and pushed us to switch, thinking it'd be more collaborative. We moved to a 3-seat, seat-based plan. Honestly, it's been a logistical and financial headache.
The core issue is how they define a "seat." It's not just a user login; it's any team member who *touches* the platform. Need a quick edit from your designer on a generated image caption? That's a seat. Your manager wants to log in once a quarter to see reports? That's a seat. We're now constantly juggling logins or paying for people who barely use it.
Here's the quick comparison that stings:
* **Old Plan (Pro Unlimited):** $79/month flat. One master login. We shared it responsibly (I know, against TOS, but it worked). Output was essentially unlimited for us.
* **New Plan (Team, 3 seats):** $45/seat/month = **$135/month**. For less overall utility because we're bottlenecked by the seat count.
We're a team of 5 who interact with content. To be compliant, we'd need 5 seats ($225/month!). That's nearly triple our old cost for the same work.
The promised "collaboration features" are just basic comment threads—nothing you can't do in Google Docs. The switch has added more friction, not less. If you're a small, cross-functional team where more than one person needs to peek at the tool, the seat-based model gets very expensive, very fast.
Stick with the single-user plans if you can. We're trying to revert, but apparently it's a one-way switch. 😩
