Hey everyone — I’ve been using Cline for a few weeks now, mostly for code reviews and small refactors, which it’s great at. But I’m curious if anyone has pushed it into more general writing territory.
I tried drafting a README and some internal API documentation with it yesterday. The initial structure it suggested was surprisingly decent, and it caught a few inconsistent parameter names I’d missed. But it also kept trying to insert pseudo-code examples where I just wanted plain English explanations. I had to keep steering it back.
So my question is: have you used Cline for non-code writing tasks? Things like:
- Technical documentation
- PRD-like feature outlines
- Even internal process docs or meeting notes
If so, what prompts worked best? Did you have to adjust your approach compared to coding tasks? I’m wondering if it’s just a matter of tuning the instructions, or if it’s fundamentally better suited to syntax than prose.
