I've been using Claude.ai for a few months now, primarily to process my meeting recordings and transcripts. The promise of "time saved" is always thrown around with these AI tools, but I got curious and decided to actually track it over the last two weeks. I think the results might be interesting for others here.

My process before was pretty manual: I'd listen back to key parts of a Zoom recording, jot down bullet points in a Google Doc, and then flesh out action items. For a 30-minute internal sync, that could easily take me another 20-25 minutes. Now, I feed the transcript (or even the audio file directly) into Claude with a specific prompt asking for concise notes, decisions, and a clear action item table.

On average, I'm now spending about 5 minutes per meeting on notes. That's just the time to get the transcript into Claude, run the prompt, and do a quick sanity-check edit. The bulk of the work is done. For 8-10 meetings a week, that's a solid 2-3 hours reclaimed.

What I'm still figuring out is the consistency. For structured meetings, it's phenomenal. For more free-form, brainstorming sessions, I sometimes need to guide it more with follow-up questions. The real "saved time" might also include the mental load of not having to switch contexts back into note-taker mode during the meeting itself.

Has anyone else done a similar time audit? I'm wondering if my numbers are typical, or if you've found different workflows that squeeze out even more efficiency. Also, curious if the time saved scales linearly with meeting length, or if there's a sweet spot.
