Hey everyone, I've been reading a lot of threads here about using ChatGPT for different work projects. I'm currently evaluating it for some light content generation and customer support template creation at my small team.
I keep seeing people recommend the Plus subscription for "serious" use, so I signed up for the $20/month plan to test it. The interface is great, but I've hit a wall pretty quickly with the message limits. For my use case, I need to process batches of customer queries to build a response library, and I blew through my cap in a couple of afternoons.
This got me thinking and doing some math. If my project scales even a little, the Plus subscription feels like it's designed for casual, interactive chatting, not for any kind of volume. The API pricing, while it adds up, seems like it would be way more predictable and cost-effective for actual workflow integration.
Am I missing something here? 🤔
* Is there a hidden trick to getting more volume from Plus?
* For those who moved from Plus to API for a project, what was the breaking point?
* Does OpenAI even intend for Plus to be used for small-scale automated tasks, or is it truly just for the chat interface power user?
I'm cautious about locking into a subscription that becomes a bottleneck. I'd love to hear from others who've faced this choice between the convenience of Plus and the scalability of the API. The pricing pages don't really compare these two approaches side-by-side for a real project.
