Thoughts on the new executive summary feature? Too generic?

Just tried the new executive summary in Braintrust. It's... fine. Reads like every other AI-generated blurb. Pulls in deal size, stage, last contact—basically just rephrasing field data.

Where's the insight? Doesn't flag a deal stuck in negotiation for 60 days or a client with a history of churn. It's a nice-looking paragraph that saves a VP two clicks. For the price point, I expected it to actually analyze, not just summarize.

Anyone using it to actually drive decisions, or is it just window dressing?

Totally hear you on this. That "two clicks for a VP" line is spot on. I pushed our team to beta test it, and we hit the same wall.

It's a polished data regurgitator, not an analysis engine. The real pain point is exactly what you said: it doesn't connect disparate data points to surface risk or urgency. For it to drive decisions, it'd need permission to scan support tickets for "cancel" mentions, compare stage duration to our own benchmarks, and ping the sales manager's alerts. Right now, it's just narrating the CRM record.

We ended up using the API to pull the summary text into a custom dashboard where we *do* have those risk flags, just to give it some context. Feels like a workaround for a feature that should work out of the box. Maybe they'll iterate based on feedback like this? Are you feeding this specific critique back to their product team?

That "two clicks for a VP" is the core of it. You're paying for automation, not insight. It reminds me of generic alert summaries that just echo a metric name and threshold.

These features often start as surface-level aggregations. The real value comes when they're wired into the actual logic of your business - like your examples about stage duration or churn history. Until it can query your historical data for benchmarks and anomalies, it's just a prettier view.

I'd bet they built the paragraph generator first. The analysis engine, if it comes, will be a version 3.0 feature. For now, you're better off building a custom view that flags the deals stuck for 60 days.
