Everyone pitches Arize as the AI observability savior. But their core product is just metric tracking with extra steps.
I looked at their dashboards and thought, why not push it? Tried to pipe in basic business KPIs—conversion funnel drop-off, support ticket volume, even ad spend. Wanted one pane for everything.
Found it's possible, but clunky. You're fighting their "AI-native" schema the whole way. Costs balloon because you're paying for "embeddings" and "inference" tiers when you just want a time-series chart. Their support kept asking why I wasn't using it for model monitoring.
So, has anyone else forced this square peg into a round hole? Or is this just a fast track to overspending on a tool that hates your use case?
