What's the best way to provide feedback to these AI tool companies? Does it work?

Hey folks! 👋 With all these Head-to-Head comparisons we're doing, we're basically running our own little QA lab for these AI coding assistants. It's got me thinking: when we spot a clear win, a weird hallucination, or a persistent weak spot, what's the most effective way to get that feedback to the actual dev teams?

I've tried a few routes with mixed results:
* **In-app feedback buttons:** Usually the easiest. I've used them in Claude, Cursor, and others. Sometimes you get a generic "thanks!" but it feels a bit like shouting into the void. Do they actually tag and triage these?
* **Community/Discord:** More direct, and you can see if others are having the same issue. I've had a dev jump in on the Windsurf discord to clarify something, which was great. But it can be noisy.
* **Direct support tickets:** For bigger, more concrete issues (like consistent bad output on a specific API pattern). This feels more "actionable" but is also higher friction.

My main question is: **does this actually influence product updates?** Have any of you seen a feature get added or a bug get fixed that you directly reported? I'd love to think our detailed comparisons and notes are useful beyond just our community.

Maybe we could even start noting the most effective feedback channel for each tool in our comparisons? Could be a cool meta-layer to help improve the tools themselves.

What's been your experience?
