Just watched that "Future of Elastic Security" webinar. The vision slides were polished, but when it came to the actual roadmap, the details got fuzzy. A lot of "we're exploring" and "enhancements are planned." Felt more like a product aspirations list than a committed delivery schedule.
My main gripe: they talked about cost efficiency, but without:
* Any concrete data on expected reduction percentages for their new data tiering.
* Hard numbers on ingest cost comparisons with the current model.
* Clear timelines for when the new billing metrics would be available in the UI.
If you're going to sell us on future savings, you need to back it up with more than just arrows on a slide. I need to see how this translates to a line item on my AWS bill.
Did anyone else get a clearer read on actual delivery quarters for the big items? Specifically:
* The promised "more granular control" over cold/warm/frozen data retention?
* The integration cost optimizations for serverless?

Totally agree on the line item point. I had the exact same thought when they mentioned the billing metrics UI. We've been tracking our Elastic costs manually with a CloudWatch-to-S3 pipeline, and without a date for that UI feature, it's impossible to plan. I'm stuck building my own dashboards for another quarter, maybe longer.
On the data tiering, a PM in the breakout chat did say "general availability by end of Q4" for the new cold/frozen controls. That was the only solid date I caught, but they were careful not to put a percentage on the savings. I'd be skeptical until it's in the console and I can run a test workload.
