Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a bit and finally decided to post. We've been using Cato Networks for about a year now for our SASE setup, and our renewal is coming up soon.

I'm trying to get a sense of what to expect. Our initial quote was pretty competitive to get us on board, but I've heard from others in different forums that renewal pricing can sometimes be a surprise. I'm curious if anyone here is willing to share their experience with a renewal quote? Not looking for exact numbers, but maybe general trends.

Like, did your costs go up significantly? Were there any new fees or changes in how they structured things? We haven't gotten our official renewal packet yet, and I just want to be prepared before we go into those talks. Any insights on what to watch out for would be super helpful. Thanks

We renewed our Cato agreement about six months back. Our quote did come in higher than the initial deal, maybe around 15%. There weren't any new line-item fees in our case, but the per-socket pricing had a modest increase. They framed it as aligning with 'list' after our intro period.

Definitely push on the commitment term. We got them to soften the jump by locking in for three years instead of one, which gave us a better rate. It's worth asking if any of your bandwidth usage patterns changed, as that can sometimes trigger a re-tier. Good luck with your talks, curious to hear how it goes for you.

We just got our renewal quote last month, and our experience was pretty similar. Ours also came in about 15% higher.

One thing to watch is the justification they use. Our rep was very focused on 'value realization,' citing new features we'd started using over the year like the SD-WAN optimization. It's worth pulling your own usage data to see if your actual bandwidth or socket counts support their proposed tier.

Locking in a longer term definitely helped, but we also got them to throw in some additional premium support hours by asking for it directly. Don't assume everything on the initial quote is set in stone.
