I've been using MeetGeek to record and summarize all my product syncs and stakeholder meetings for a full year now. As a PM juggling a dozen projects, the promise was huge.
Honestly, it's a solid B+. The AI summaries are genuinely useful for creating quick share-outs and action item lists. It's saved me hours of manual note-taking. But the "insights" feature feels a bit surface-level after a while—it spots keywords and themes, but doesn't really deepen my understanding beyond what a good skim of the transcript would.
The big thing for me is the vendor lock-in. All my meeting data lives in their system. I'd love to see a proper self-hosted alternative in this space, or at least robust export options that aren't just JSON dumps. For now, it's a helpful tool, but I'm keeping my eyes open for something more open. Has anyone found a good OSS contender for this yet?
