I know the official training materials are a core part of Granola's onboarding, and I’ve always recommended them to new users. But after sitting through the latest series with a colleague who was just starting out, I had to admit something to myself: they’re becoming a real test of patience.
The core issue is the signal-to-noise ratio. For every one minute of concrete "here's how you map this custom field" or "this is why the sync behaves that way," there are four minutes of high-level philosophy, repetitive definitions of basic SaaS terms, and glossy b-roll of people smiling at laptops. When you're trying to solve a specific problem or understand a nuanced feature, wading through that feels inefficient.
I don't think the intent is wrong—context is important, especially in a complex B2B ecosystem. But the balance feels off. It often assumes too little of the viewer's time and expertise, burying the actionable insights.
Has anyone else felt this way? I'm curious if you've found particular modules or video series that buck this trend and get straight to the point. Or have you abandoned the official videos in favor of other resources for learning Granola's deeper functionalities?
