Hi everyone, I've been using Cursor for a few weeks now, mostly for product analytics work. I keep seeing the chat feature highlighted, but I'm trying to figure out if itβs actually a better experience than just having my IDE open next to a ChatGPT browser tab.
On one hand, having the chat right in the editor is convenient for quick syntax questions or asking about a specific function I'm looking at. But sometimes it feels like it's just a ChatGPT wrapper. I'm curious about the practical differences.
Has anyone done a real side-by-side comparison for coding tasks? I'm particularly interested in:
- Does it have better context awareness of my entire project?
- How does it handle asking about user event tracking or A/B test implementation compared to vanilla ChatGPT?
- Are there any privacy or data handling aspects that are different when using it inside Cursor?
I'm eager to learn but also a bit cautious about jumping into a new tool without understanding the real value. The sales page talks about "deep integration," but I'd rather hear from people actually using it day-to-day. 😅
